Slow Stitch and Mindfulness

As we come towards the end of February, are you feeling tired of the gloomy weather, or of having your default mode as ‘busy’?? Take a moment to press pause, and step into the creative and relaxed environment of The Fashion Lab, where you will be gently guided to stitch your stresses away in this class designed to focus on the mindful and creative nature of embroidery.

When we are more aware of the present moment, we become to appreciate things we tend to take for granted, and we also become more aware of our train of thoughts. Still need convincing? Scientific benefits of hand embroidery include lowering blood pressure, improving confidence and helping train the brain with creativity and creative solutions, as well as improving coordination and brain function! In this class, you will be taught a linear and filling stitch and how to get started, before following and filling a pre-drawn design with thread.
