Ever wondered what lies behind the doors of Commercial Union House, one of the few remaining Brutalist office buildings in Newcastle that also happens to be home to a huge variety of artists, creative businesses, galleries, charities and learning groups?
For this year's 25th anniversary of Heritage Open Days, there will be an exclusive tour of the building, as well as a talk by We are Explore patron John Grundy, 'Concrete Dreams: Brutalism and the North East'. The Fashion Lab doors will be open to the public as part of the Heritage Open Day, so if you're curious to see behind the scenes of Melanie Kyles creative process (come say hi!), find out more about upcoming workshops and events with The Fashion Lab, generally immerse yourself in the wonderful creative environment we get to work in every day at Ampersand Inventions and experience the other creative businesses based here in the building, don't forget to book your tour (1pm or 3pm start) by emailing events@ampersandinventions.com!
